The founding document of the world's first automotive nation.

There is a class of object the world has failed to defend.

For a century, the remarkable automobile has been more than transport. It has been craft, identity, inheritance — the canvas of designers and the obsession of the people who build, restore, and steward these machines.

And in all that time, the culture around it has been left without the one thing every serious culture eventually builds for itself: an institution to carry it forward.

THRILL Republica is that institution. Not a club, not a platform, not a brand — a nation.

The world's first automotive nation: a sovereign, transnational community bound not by geography but by a single conviction — that remarkable vehicles are cultural artifacts, and the people who steward them deserve to be recognized as citizens of a culture worth defending.

The Founding is its founding document. It makes the argument for why this nation must exist, describes the nation it intends to be, and sets out the road from a written manifesto to a recognized people. It is also an attempt at something larger: to build, around one of the largest cultures on earth, a genuine network state.

This book is an invitation. If you have ever felt that your love of these machines was something more than a hobby — and never had a name for it — you are holding the name.

The Founding is issued to the early Citizens of THRILL Republica, for the consideration of all who believe that remarkable vehicles are cultural artifacts, that the act of driving is worth defending, and that a culture which is not organized into a nation will not, in the century ahead, survive as anything more than nostalgia.

This book — the manifesto and founding document of THRILL Republica — is offered freely to all who wish to read it. If you recognize yourself in it, the work of building the nation is open to you.
